Vent, Part 2
Maraco, Calhoun, Alk, Tsuno, Thumbs, and I all tested the Vent server this afternoon. It appears to be working great. For connection information, check out the "Guild Information" button on the guild page in-game. This is running off of my Win2k3 server, and is intended to be available 24/7 so have at it!

Gavin gave me a little Creative mic. Joe was asking why I sounded clearer than Scott last night. Gavin, do you think that is a quality mic? Or could it be another factor, like positioning?
I find it hard to bring myself to call that mic "quality". Maybe it's OK tho. Positioning is definately important. It seems like mics are all "Super Lucky Best Quality Fifteen Dolla' You Buy Now OK?" or $200+.
Most of the time my mic is clipped on to my shirt collar. I also do not speak directly into it. You would need a large foam wind break to prevent damage to the mic.
Also learning how to use the push to talk helps. Ie. the ol' walkie talkie... Its best to press the PTT button a 1/2 second befor you begin speaking and hold it down for 1/2 second after you finnish.
On a related note, this reminds me of the good ol' days of Squeekle and Sqeezel.. n' Lil Sqeek. Can I get a ahmen? WOOT WOOT
