ToC Event Calendar

I've set up a ToC event calendar, and have sent an invitation to everyone in ToC who I know has a gmail account. You don't have a gmail account, you say?

erm...

I don't understand. You don't have what now? Seriously, get with the 00's people.

Anyway, a significant number of us do have gmail accounts, and I strongly encourage you folks to look at the calendar. I think it will really impress you. Everyone who gets an invite also gets the right to manage events, and discussions can be posted in the event details to allow for planning, etc. For example, please have a look at the item I created for (I think) server time Fri. evening. I also put up what I think are The Fabled's recurring activities, just so everyone knows when some folks have other obligations. I know Ivers is in another guild, maybe he could put up the days when he's busy with them. Since I'm trying to do this from a different time zone, it's not always easy for me to see when I've made a mistake, so if you find one please correct it. (Is 10:30am the following day for me really 6:30pm the previous day for you?)

If you don't have a gmail account and you want one, or if you want me to try inviting you to use google calendar even without a gmail account, please drop tatakikorosu an in-game mail with your real name and the email address you'd like me to send your invitation to. Also indicate whether or not you want a gmail invite or just a calendar invite.

I know scheduling activities has been difficult, so I'm hoping this will make things easier and allow us to get together more often!

PS, I've been on a little more regularly lately, but it's about 2am - 6am server time. If you're up at that hour, hop on and say hi!

I didn't get the invite for the Calander but when i looked into it, it was there already!
it's nice way to keep track of what people are working on.

Yes, grand idea. I liked it so much I added the calendar right over there on the sidebar. Neato.

Joe emailed me with a few questions about google calendar. Here's the reply I typed up for him. I figured it might be helpful to others here, too.

No. If you can see events, you're on. You've already been given event creation/management rights. Also, you can create conflicting events with no problems at all. Just give it a try and see what happens! The calendar handles them quite gracefully, IMHO. It's one of the reasons I love google calendar.

There are two ways to create a new event. The most obvious one is to just click the "create event" link in the upper left. An even faster and sexier way is to just click and drag on a time block, and enter your text at the prompt. If you have more than one calendar, make sure the correct one shows in the list. That's it!

Also remember to check in the details page of an event. There people can post comments and discuss the event in question. Just click on the title of the event to get to the details page.
