NE stealth ("shadowmeld") is only active while standing still. The complaint is that NE hunters can "aimed shot" out of stealth, which is one of their most powerful attacks.
Anyway - I think druids are better if you are farming resource nodes - stealth + travel and aquatic forms.
I suspect that rogues are the class of choice because rogues can work really well in pairs or trios. Two hunters don't equate to much more than 2x the damage. Two rogues can enact a long stunlock, minimizing damage taken, and therefore minimizing downtime.

The ability to stealth to an herb or a metal veign means you can farm faster as there's no need to fight mobs on the way.

No. But BE have some very powerful PvP class abilities. They are mana drain and an AoE silence. Should be a kick-ass battlegrounds class.

The time it takes to level a druid vs. a rogue may have something to do with the preference for rogues.
