I've abandoned cosmos, but I still use a whole mess of addons. My newest one is AF_Tooltip Mini. It binds the tooltip to the mouse, and is really great in PvP. Since leaving Cosmos, I've had to do a little more work to keep adons updated, but on the flip side far fewer of them break when we get a patch. The best way I've found to keep track of what's new is to create an account (free) over at Curse Gaming. Once this is done, you can keep your own list of favorite addons (look for the Add This Addon To My Favorites link,) and it will highlight new versions at the top of the list.
Mods I Use:
Perl Classic Interface (Updated and improved over the original abandoned project.)
myReloadUI (Reloads the UI. Simple!)
AF_Tooltip Mini (My newest mod. Love it!)
Sea (Library necessary for a couple of the other mods to work)
MarsQuestLevel (Adds the numeric quest level to the quest, and nothing else. Simple!)
MarsMailHelper (Auto-fills the last player name you mailed to, and nothing else. Simple!)
CT_RaidAssist (Not just convenient, a must have for any raid.)
CastOptions (Allows me to hold the ALT key to self-cast)
KarlGustav's Gryphons Remover (Removes the gryphon art from the toolbar, and nothing else. Simple!)
Atlas (Maps for instances.)
Gatherer (Tracks where I find maraj-- erm, oregano. yah.)
Reagent Info (Tracks what professions and recipes mats are used for. Newest version not yet on the curse-gaming site. Read user comments to find author's site with latest version.)
TotemTimers (Warns me when a totem is about to expire. Critical in raids when my FR tot must always be up. Convenient all other times.)
DPSCount (Very small window tracks my dps. Averaged over the whole fight.)
CooldownCount (Counts down seconds before an ability is useable again. Latest version on author's site. read comments for link.)
LootLink (This is how folks link items in chat that they don't have. check comments for link to latest version.)
QuickMountEquip (Puts on my carrot when I mount up, and takes it off when I dismount. Some folks report trouble w/ 1.8, but mine is working fine.)
Auctioneer (Tracks prices in the AH. Works out of the box, but it's up to you to scan the AH to populate it with data. Better than Allakhazam, because the prices are specific to your AH on your server, but takes a little more work. Check comments for links to latest version.)
TargetDistance (An abandoned project that no longer works. If anyone knows another mod that will do the same thing, I'd love to know about it.)
MapCoord (Shows my player and pointer coordinates below the map)

I'm neither pro or anti cosmos but I've found that by creating a "no update" file cosmos won't delete non-cosmos addons when you run cosmos.exe. so if you have the quickmountequip addon you would make a text file quickmountequip.noupdate and that would prevent cosmos updater from wiping it off the interface folder.
"...but I still use a whole mess of addons."
You got that right. Please tell me which one of those is good for someone's first mod. I just want an extra actionbar or two visable.
Hiya ひどい. You don't actually need an addon for that. Just go in to the interface settings, and you can turn on an additional lower left, lower right, right hand, and second right hand bars. You can enable them one at a time, or all at once.
Were you able to find the extra toolbars ok, ひどい?
