So.. our merry little server has come up on the realm transfer list. Character transfers will be opening up on the 10th for a new server called Black Dragonflight. The move is supposed to alleviate some of the pressure on our server, maybe whittle down the queues and the lag a bit.
Blizzard has thrown in a twist, though. Black Dragonflight is a PvP server. This means that you are automatically PvP flagged in contested zones (just about every zone over level 20). I hear that STV is pretty much an ongoing battle royale on those servers.
I'm split on the prospect of switching to a PvP server. It will certainly make the game a lot more interesting. The Fabled will probably be putting it to a vote really soon, and I'm inclined to stick with them. What do you folks think?

I have split feelings about moving to a PvP server, but in the end I fear not all my friends would be very keen on it which will likely keep me on Hyjal.
Here's hoping the transfers drain away enough other players to improve things for those who stay.

I, too. Will happily go where my TOC friends go also. I've secretly been contemplating a pvp charcter and this is my big chance. I am however still a noob and although I love pvp often loose duels so if you guys stay pve I could use the noob safety too.
Oh and PLEASE tell me what The Fabled vote so we can do it as fast as possible, I hear transfers often close early.
This has been a hot discussion topic over at The Fabled. I'm 99% positive it won't happen though. A lot of people have very strong feelings against it.
On a personal note, I know without a doubt that my wife would cancel her account after just two hours on a PvP server. Even though she rarely playes, I value the time that she does and I don't want to give that up so I just can't do it.
I voted yes on the Fabled boards, but I highly doubt that Proposition P will pass.
Ok, good to know. Besides, a pvp server would interfere with my afk'ing in contested high level areas for mining purposes.
i wouldn't mind moving to a pvp server but i think sherie would lose interest fast. she doesn't even like people fishing on her floating wreckage.
if you guys decide to move i'll prob move one of my mule over with some gold.
